Gospel-Centered Discipleship: A Call to Help One Another Follow Jesus
We began the second quarter of 2026 with our third workshop of the year, Gospel-Centered Discipleship. It served as a timely reminder of God's grace in continually drawing us back to His Word, strengthening our convictions once again in what must remain central—the Gospel.
It started with Pastor Franco laying out foundations — showing us the purpose of the gathering: that we need to be equipped as pastors are called to equip the saints for the work of ministry, including discipleship, so that the body of Christ may grow into maturity. As we looked at Ephesians 4:11–16, we were reminded that the church is designed to function as a healthy, unified body, building itself up in love as each member does their part.
We were then led, through Scripture, helping us see more clearly what it truly means to be a disciple, and what it means to disciple others. As scripture reveals it, we were blessed with the realization that discipleship is not reserved for pastors alone, but a calling given to the whole church. Each of us is invited to walk alongside one another, helping one another follow Christ faithfully.
Throughout the workshop, we found ourselves being recalibrated. We were reminded that gospel-centered discipleship requires intentionality and not merely good intentions, but a deliberate commitment to invest in the lives of others as we point them to Jesus — and to actually take action! It was both a challenge and an encouragement, calling us to take part more actively in the life and growth of the body.
More than anything, it was a meaningful time of reflection and renewed commitment. We were reminded of the privilege we have in participating in God’s work of forming a people for Himself.
As we look ahead, we are expectant that the Lord will do wonderful things in shaping our church to be a church who makes gospel-centered disciples.
